TOGETHER, NOT ALONE World Premiere Tour Arrives in Queens, Featuring Union Docs in Ridgewood and LaGuardia Students' COVID Experiences

Queens-based cultural organizations, including Zip Code Memory Project, Queens World Film Festival, A-Doc, and Union Docs, will welcome the TOGETHER, NOT ALONE five-borough world premiere tour to Queens on March 19 at The Local in Long Island City with screenings, audience participation, and refreshments, to mark the three-year anniversary of NYC "shutting down" for Covid, showcasing the non-fiction storytelling and the act of documentation that contributed to saving the communities, and featuring a 6-minute film about LaGuardia's students' experiences in Queens under the COVID lockdown and the recently moved organization, Union Docs, in Ridgewood Queens.

"Don't You Wanna Try" with Elk City in Ridgewood: A Night of Female-Fronted Bands

Elk City releases "Don't You Wanna Try", an anti-anthem for anyone living outside societal norms, from their recently released album "Above The Water" out now via Magic Door Record Label, founded by Guided by Voices drummer Kevin March with drummer-producer Ray Ketchem and vocalist-artist Renée LoBue; on March 4, Elk City presents a night of female-fronted bands with friends Girls on Grass and Creek and Kills at Windjammer in Ridgewood, Queens.

Ridgewood Linked to Tragic Night of Gang Violence and Double Homicide in Lower East Side

Jahmel Sanders was arrested for the 2022 double-homicide of Lower East Side nail salon owner Nikki Huang and her friend Jesse Parrilla, and a second suspect, Steven Santiago, remains on the run; the killings were part of a night of violence between two gangs that was sparked by the theft of Huang's Luis Vuitton bag and resulted in three deaths, including Parrilla's, who police believe was killed simply because of his friendship with Huang and who was kidnapped and forced to lure a gang rival from his home in Ridgewood.

Police raided an address in Ridgewood, resulting in four arrests and the recovery of contraband, including two NYPD uniform shirts, loaded handguns, and narcotics, while a crook is being sought for the armed robbery of a CVS store on the Ridgewood/Bushwick border and a South Richmond Hill man has been charged with murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in Woodhaven that arose from a dispute over money.
